Ok so with the latest version ID thought it was a great ID to lock down any cheat capabilities.

So if you want to use cheats just download one of this old game fixe you can find somewhere on the net or just copy the rage.exe from the dvd you buy. You'll have version 1.0.

Then save before buying at a vendor, use the old .exe then load your save, buy at 1$ using the console and command cvarAdd g_vendorSalePriceScale -1.

Save to a new savegame, quit and reload the new exe. You're done;

I dont say thanks to ID or Bethesda for this game, maybe it's a good game but the PC version is just not acceptable in 2011/2012.

There is no executable in the dvd's.
I think it's contained within the installation exe, but there is no individual Rage.exe, I've looked through the disks.
