I can't believe that Bethesda is even entertaining the idea of not releasing this game and I do believe they are being a fancyful congregation of coy devils by starting all these rumors. and that petition with a surprisingly low amount of signatures. I just can't escape the feeling that I'm being played, that some marketing guys are trying some new "engage mode: overhype" tactic or something because I've been more or less completely unaware of this game until now.
I try to follow pretty much all news on anything game related but somehow prey 2 has escaped my attention and that doesn't really happen, like, almost ever.
So my conclusion to all of this would be that Prey 2 publishers have been trying to keep the game unexposed and have all this cancelling hype blow up in everyone and their grandmother's face *all of a sudden* and expose the game to people through this hype.
I mean, if games with this amount of player choice in character customizability, and this amount of different approaches to gameplay, and this amount of character interaction with the environment and NPCs... and this kind of refined art style and all engulfing immersion.. If these kinds of games were farmyard animals, I would eat them, have (morally reprehensible) intercourse with them, and [censored] them.
This is basically targeting a market that has been proven to be a viable market, look at mirrors edge, the closest comparison. Prey is also a
If this game never releases I would do anything in my power to not even obtain but just fiddle gently and ever so softly with a beta or even alpha version of it.
And if I have questionable relations with farmyard animals then god only knows what degrading measures I would go to just to try this game if it should ever be cancelled.
Let me just say this; there is no way this game isn't releasing, it's all just hype.
I'm not an idiot and more to the point; neither is Bethesda.
