FAQS - 3D Gameplay

How do I enable stereoscopic 3D?

OpenGL issues

These are some steps and considerations to look into if you're experiencing OpenGL issues.
  • Your graphics card drivers may be out of date. Check the video card manufacturer's website and install the latest driver software for your card.
  • It is possible that the version of Direct X running on your computer is encountering errors with the game you are trying to play. If this is the case, we advise uninstalling and reinstalling Direct X. The latest version of Direct X can be found herehttp://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35
If you still receive an OpenGL error after trying these steps, please try the steps below:
  • Navigate to C:\Users\*your username*\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM 3 BFG\base and find file "D3BFGConfig.cfg
  • Open the file with a text editor (notepad or similar) and edit line r_fullscreen "1" and set it to "0".
  • Launch the game (Doom should now launch in Windowed Mode), select Doom 3, then select “Settings” and then “System”.
  • The fullscreen resolution will show as "Disabled". Click “Disabled” and select a resolution that is supported by your monitor. Make sure that the resolution you choose matches the resolution that your monitor is currently set to or one that is close.
  • Lastly, try changing your desktop resolution and the game resolution to 1280 x 720.
