Post » Mon May 06, 2013 11:58 pm

How long does it take to beat this dlc? I will be buying it reguardless to have something to play before christmas but just curious. Also please don't tell me if u rushed through like many ppl did to RAGE when it first released and said it only took them 8 hours. Just how long it took w/o rushing through and maybe how long if u do all of the side quests. Also any new abilities? Thanks for any answers i will put it in number format so its easier

1) How long does it take to beat with all side missions included?
2) Any new abilities?
3) Do you recommend it?

1) There are a total of about 5 missions on it. There is Hagar Caves, Refinery, Scorcher Base, and a few other levels. They are also great and even add a few new gameplay varietys in some sections such as opening doors with valves hidden in a control room. It takes about 3 hours to beat.
2) No new abilitys, but there is a new mode called Scenario, a new weapon called the Nail-Gun with several different types of ammo, and Ultra-Nightmare mode. Also, the ability to keep playing after you beat the game.
3)I would highly reccomend it. It's only $5 so support the devs if you can.

Took me about 4 hours but I guess it depends how good you are... I think it is a very good single player experience worth the price tag I don't think it's a regrettable decision to buy it really given the price and not only that but the quality surpasses that of some of the original content.

You Get the following

Hagar Caves Mission
The Scorchers Refinary Mission
Mutant Bash TV episode 2 Misssion
The Wellspring Tunnels Mission
The Scorchers base Mission and Boss Battle

Jackpots Casino Bar with 2 mini games
the nail gun with 3 modes equivalent to 3 fifferent guns
New enemy Mutant Bone Mutant
New Mounted turrets weapon

Continue playing after the main campaign
Chapter Scenario select (not sure if this is present on consoles as have not tried it)
Ultra Nightmare difficulty mode

Worth $5 or £3.69 I would think so

I can recommend it if for no reason other than I paid less for it than I would for lunch on any given day, and it's really just more Rage.

A little over 3 hours sounds about right. The new missions are fun, the nail gun is possibly the most amazing weapon in the game, and the DLC adds a few other useful features, such as extended play and scenario replay. So if you liked the original game, then yes, it's very definitely worth the small investment.

How long it does take to beat it is actually hard to say.
The DLC integrates itself into the main campaign and is not playable as a single event of 5 maps after another.
You also get new weaponry which can be used through the whole of the original game and a new area available in Wellspring.
Additionaly, you can keep on playing after the credits.
So it's more like a mod to the game than just an addon.

It's cheaper than a pack of cigarettes and definitely adds more (replay)value to the game than your casual map pack.

The Nail Gun alone makes it up! The Rebar is awsome!

For 5 bucks it is a Steal! EA would have charged 20 Bucks for the Stuff that it brings. If you like Rage you do nothing wrong with The Scorchers!

Rebars are the greatest ammo for the greatest weapon, my favoriet. Nothing more satisftying than pinning the enemies into wall!

Nailgun loaded with rebar is my favorite weapon too. From the perfect sound of it loading, to the ragdoll animation when it hits an enemy to looting rebar from decapitated head in walls -- love it!

Yeah the nail gun + rebar is by far the best weapon, playing through again and taking down the Authority guards with it is fun! so much enjoyment... not easy to take down mutants with it though, need fatboys for that!
