Autosave Made at the End?

Post » Tue May 07, 2013 9:14 am

I've noticed that this DLC makes a distinct autosave after you beat it. It's not like the other saves, as those saves can be loaded up via the game. This autosave just exists, and is marked either "High Chaos" or "Low Chaos", depending on how you played. Are we going to be able to use this save to have an impact on the next DLC, or does it exist for some other reason?

Why was this moved? There aren't any spoilers in this post.

Oh well, at least re-reading it let me make a grammatical correction. Woo!

I'm guessing yes, since the next DLC is a continuation of this one, the special save is made for that reason.

I don't think it was anything you did, but that there's a good chance the answers people will give here will talk about the ending, and therefore will be loaded with spoiler stuff.

It won't show up in the game. On the 360, it's located in Dishonored's save folder alongside the other saves.

Yeah, it's likely a save that will be used for the Brigmore Witches DLC.... so all the choices you've made here will be carried over, since
that DLC is a direct continuation of this one.

If we beat the DLC multiple times which save will Brigmore Witches use?

Maybe it'll let you choose....when you're starting the Brigmore DLC it won't automatically load your savegame but will
ask you which one you want to load.

You can also just save on your own each time just before you finish. Loading that and completing the game will overwrite the autosave.

Or, you could delete the autosave you don't want. That's what I did. Since I have no use for a High Chaos ending autosave, I just deleted it.
I mean, outside of the next DLC, it's useless.

EDIT: Though I suppose if you wanted to see how different chaos levels would effect the next DLC, you might want to keep a backup (on a USB or something)

Can anyone point me to where these game-saves are stored on a PC with a Steam-installed Dishonored? My game is screwing up (crashing with a "Dishonored has stopped working" message) when I try to start the third and final mission. I've played the DLC through three times now successfully, but I can no longer get past this problem and it must be something wrong my end (likely some corrupt save).

Check your Documents - My Games folder. It should have a folder named Dishonored. Then check the Saves folder.

That's where most PC saves are at, but I could be wrong this time.
