Are the Ending's significant to Daud's fate?

Post » Tue May 07, 2013 12:37 pm

In High Chaos, it shows Corvo sneaking behind Daud blade raised, with Daud not knowing corvo's there, with the outsider saying, "What happens to monster's at the end?"

In Low Chaos, it shows Corvo approaching Daud, sword lowered, who see's Corvo and is confronting him with the Outsider saying, "Daud, who spared his betrayer's life"

So are they saying, if the DLC is done on High Chaos, Corvo kills Daud, and if its done on Low, Daud survives?

No.It is just more likely that a High Chaos Corvo would murder Daud.Gives a nice vibe to it.
Oh, what am I saying, I don't know.
I know that there is another DLC for Daud planned but I don't know when it will be incorporated, because in the final mission in KoD the announcer says something along the lines of former Lord Regent. The mission where you eliminate the LR, is the mission before the Flooded District, and your battle with Daud.Although I don't know how many days must have been there between those two.A night?24 hours?48?72?Who knows. When we get more info on the third DLC, we'll know.

Ahh i certainly hope not. i love playing on high chaos, but i don't want for Daud to die.

I just watched the low ending cutscene and it seems like this is the way its happening. in this case i might consider replaying on low chaos. sigh..

Well in case i decide to replay, what are the requirements of low chaos?

I think it is trying to suggest that a high chaos Daud wouldn't have a chance of being spared. But to me it's just that - a suggestion, because sparing Daud is also the player's choice (so far) and we can kill him or spare him regardless of any good he has done. Plus, Corvo isn't aware of anything Daud is doing so redemption or not... it probably wouldn't matter.

Does make sense though for him to die if he just kills everyone in a mission, assassins are meant to be professional and if they can neutrilize targets without killing them all they should be more respected as that is more difficult.

I have played low chaos and in my opinion it is the best. It is a more positive and rewarding experience if a bit more challenging. The requirements is not to kill anybody and do non lethal ways to deal with targets. stock up as much sleeping darts as you can but only use them if you really have to. If you get caught use blink to escape (even better now as it stops time) Use choke holds instead of your blade to deal with guards but be careful where to leave them as rats may eat them. that's really only the difference but it impacts on how people behave as well if your play low chaos people are less darker.. I strongly suggest you play the main game on low chaos as well as there is a dramatic difference in how people behave.

Yes thats true, but daud is an evil assassin. of course you can play how you want in the DLC, but in general they portrayed him as an assassin for hire. its logical for him to kill his targets. as well as other people. i understand the chaos system in Dishonored, seeing as Corvo wasnt a bad man, but merley a guy on revenage. but in this DLC you are an assassin and you're getting blamed if you kill people? doesnt seem right. also what wouldn't make sense is if i chose to spare him in the main game only to have him die in the last DLC.

He may be evil in the past or present but lets make no mistake he is a professional if he kills people other than targets then he is going to be seen as an incompetent thug who just kills anybody. To me Duad is not bloodthirsty or an idiot and he plans his assassinations. Killing the empress changed him in a way, good or for bad. It is up to you. Not killing anyone but getting rid of targets is quite an achievement (I am sure you get xbox one too) and very professional. Daud is not going to die in the dlc, His ending is entirely up to Covor, it just a suggestion on how you play. If he is high choas and kills lots of people then it suggests corvo is likely to kill him but if he is low chaos and does not kill anyone then it it is likely that corvo won't kill him.

Well yeah but you do lose low chaos rating if you kill your targets, no?

No, you have to kill a bunch of people to have your chaos go down (I think it was about 20% in the main game?). You do lose a clean hands achievement but you can still have your chaos low.

And to me, it does make sense for Daud to kill targets he's been paid to kill, that's just common sense. But everything beyond that is up to the player. He might kill everyone and not give a [censored], he might kill when he needs to (when spotted), or he could be a professional and take care to not be seen ever. All those would make sense in their way.

Yeah it is pretty much up to the player, There was only one target he was paid to kill in the dlc and that was Arnold but that was only a coincidence he can be dealt with in a a non lethal way too tho.
