Just been playing around with the uv maps on the ship models and it got me to thinking. Fair enough the hull would be wood and the railings would likely be wood as well, rudder and bow also. What about the cabin though? It's shaped pretty oddly even to be made from wood. It'd take a lot of effort to put wood into that shape. Looking at it I wonder if it would make more sense if it were something like shell (the shape makes me think of them or plate metal.
Hopefully will be able to get back to working on textures (couple of things to do for other people as well as things I'd like to make myself) and this is one of those things that's been bugging me for years - the ships in Morrowind.
Any thoughts/ideas?

The Telvanni bark texture I think was from the Mixed Textures base pack and the wooden planks texture I think is from a mod texture pack from Skyrim. With the dimensions set though from that plank texture I can piece something together that's purpose made to take it's place. Those planks just look too clean.
