Champions of Regnum. A FTP mmo on steam looks and sounds ALOT like eso. Coincidence? Or #illuminati

I don't know if this is a good idea. You might not want to advertise for other games here.

Seriously, no. The dev-cycle isn't right for it to be ripping off ESO; this would have had to be designed and construction started well before anything was known about ESO. Go back a step or two, look at what game preceded both and had similar features.

To be fair, TESO is not even out yet. This is like saying GuildWars 2 rips off TESO.

Why people immediately have to assume something is a rip-off? You know earths population? We do sometimes have similar ideas pop into our heads just some runs to the IP office with them, while others dont.

I have invented several hundred and more unique ideas in my life. Then I did a google search and found that 80% already existed, yet I never would have heard of them otherwise.

Not to mention the chronological order others pointed out. This reminds me of the guy insisting that a computer part was outdated a year ago, when it was about a 1month fresh release.

Let's not compile a list what ESO will take original ideas from.

The whole IP business is a sad corner of humanity. We all learn from each other, a lot. But if you run to the IP office first, it is your idea, sure :D

I see the sun enough, thanks. You have no knowledge of my life whatsoever, and I am chilled enough for my personal preferences, thanks. You made a ridiculous statement and no personal insults will going to help you fix that. Maybe start where a wiser yourself would, and admit it was a mistake.

:D Also, everyone bases their assumptions on themselves, so one question left, are you seeing the sun enough sir?

//facepalm

Even if they did copy certain aspects that's fine, there's nothing wrong with that. It's evolution. If the rules were fickle then we would have gotten GTA3 or later, Saints Row, Forza, Rock Band, WoW, Uncharted and hundreds of thousands of other games.

What isn't okay is when games just Luftrausers get just completely ripped off.

I'm looking at one of the screenshots, and Champions of Regnum is a game that I wouldn't even install to try the game out.

Look at the flat lands, just a modelled ground, nothing on it. Looks plain boring. Gonna wait until ESO comes out, that's gonna be fuppin' amazing.
