The Wood, The Bad, and the Waarghly

Post » Sat May 11, 2013 7:16 am

I feel that's a fitting title to cover the three alliances. From the forest dwelling elves and their kin, to the Waaaargh screaming orcs and their allies, to the just plain bad Nords and Dark elves.

I don't mean "bad" as in "good", or "bad" as in "cool". I mean "bad" as in "predictable" or "bad" as in "unimaginative" ;op

Now I've set myself up for a suitably large flaming, I'd like to know:

1) WHAT RACE you're going to be picking.

2) WHY that race?

For the records, I'm going with Altmer. I like elves and I like forests. Forests are cool.

If you don't believe me, ask the ladies. They will all tell you the same thing. A big wood is a good thing.

I like bretons, nostalgia i guess if anything. In previous games they were easy to use to break the game. 50% magic resist as a racial trait in oblivion. In the main storyline there was a chance at a ring that gave you another 50% and thus you could be immune to magicka. I don't have any other reason i suppose, i could do fine with most elves or humans i dislike the beast races personally.

Dunmer are unimaginative?

Bosmer, of course. I always play as Bosmer. Tribes, forests, archery, ritualistic cannibalism and minding our own business instead of constantly conquering someone - what else would I need?

Just FYI, I'm suing you for stealing my thread title I clearly stole from a movie. :stare:

1) High Elf

2) It's the only race worthy of true magic.

Have to laugh - I used to play Breton for the same reason. Magic resist was overpowered. Altmer was a hard one to play because of their weakness to it. Just upped the challenge and made it more fun ;)

I'm with you all the way... right up until the cannibalism bit. You're saying you actually eat other elves? and swallow? lol

Haha - you've thought of that one too? ;)

Have to go with ya on the magic. The best lore fit of the lot imo.

Elves. Humans. Khajiit, although their fur is rather inconvenient...
