Something is wrong with my xbox 360.

This has happened on like three games already. In the middle of playing them, I would get a message saying the disc is unreadable and takes me back to the Dashboard. And I would check the disks but there are no scratches in any of them. (Or if they were, they were not bad enough to affect the disk.)

So is there a problem with my xbox? Is it a warning that it's getting the Red Ring of Death?

Another note, I noticed I misspelled the word "xbox" in the title. Sorry for the suffering.

My first guess is that maybe the laser lens is dirty (dust and micro particles will accumulate over time). How long have you had it?

For what I suggest you need to go to a local store (walmart or a store like radio shack will have it) and buy a special disc that cleans the lens. It will have little bristles on it that sweep it clean. Talk to a associate they should know what your talking about.

This is my third Xbox. (Damn RRoD.) and I had it between a year ot two years. And I did checked the disk tray and I noticed that it's dusty. I tried blowing into it to clean but that didn't work.

I'll try to buy the special disk. But how much money it causes?

Checked the prices and they can be under 10 dollars or under 20 dollars.

Shouldn't be too bad then.

Also, I have another question, could this problem lead to the Red Ring of Death if not solved?

Not that I am aware of. All that is happening is that some particles are sitting on the lens and are causing the laser that reads the disc to not aim properly. Even if this does not fix it it is still a very handy tool to have around. If your disc reading machines start acting funny run it. I found that 8/10 times that fixes it.
