Why why why? The return of 24....

Post » Mon May 13, 2013 10:24 pm

Why would they bring http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2013/05/13/24-returning-to-fox-for-12-episodes-network-announces/ horrible show back? :cryvaultboy:

While I know one particular user (:whistling:) May be very happy about this, does anyone think they could have done better by making an entirely new show?

I know a show's 'greatness' is subjective, but I hate this show, so I'm a bit sad they'd do this instead of making a new show that'd be worth watching. But that's just my opinion.

Discuss: Opinion of the new 24 release

I liked the first few seasons of that show. It's silly, but kinda fun in an over-the-top sort of way. It definitely went too far, though.

By the end of the series, I was ready to stab Chloe...

I too have a question. Why is CBS canceling Golden Boy and Vegas? I was really getting into these shows http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/493416-Upfronts_2013_CBS_Cancels_CSI_NY_Vegas_Golden_Boy_Rules_.php?rssid=20065 .

CSI:NY has ran it's course as well as Rule of Engagement but I liked Vegas and Golden Boy, CBS better not put on more "Reality TV Shows" crap those shows are getting old really fast.

I could never commit to watching 24 for a season, so I never got into the series. But, it kind of struck me like the Ludlum books on Bourne do. An endless series of bad guys showing up to commit mayhem. Of course this is based on just watching a few of these throughout the years, so maybe I just watched the most action packed episodes.

But, based on those few viewings, no human would have any energy after the first 6 hours of their day to do anything, much less save the world.

As for the series upheavals, I have given up on the main networks. All their shows are the same, and when they are different, then it's the same plot re-hashes, so it does not really matter who the actors or the show titles are, I have seen them already. I now watch almost exclusively the Niche channels, you know the ones every one complains about having to pay for and never watch. Well, that's the last place left where there is any television worth watching.

I feel the same.

I never really could get into 24 but having it come back seems like a ploy to get money quick. There is a time and place for series to end, 24 had its.

This would be like if they brought back Breaking Bad after their final season. Simply doing it because it a for sure money maker.

TBH I dont even have cable any more. I find it pointless to spend all that money for shows I cant seem to stand. Netflix is where its at.

Because one person doesn't generate enough money to keep the show running.

See, I find general TV boring, but I find a lot of channels I watch, but most of it is off the air sitcoms I watch. (IE Frasier, Cheers and Everybody Loves Raymond. Et Cetera)

Jack Bauer would have been dead on multiple occasions if not for her. You have to keep watching. I was just like you at first when my friend said I'd change my tune. And I did. Love that girl now.

I loved the show. I watched it last year pretty much nonstop from when i got home till i went to sleep, untill every series was finished.

I did think the terrorists were a bit daft, or just unlucky, to keep attacking the same city Jack Bauer is in. Probably best to look up where hes working and then bomb the other side of the country.

Glad to see it come back, although im curious how the plot will work. From the ending of the series, he'd done some pretty bad stuff and i didnt think he'd be able to return to America after it.

As for Chloe, not too keen on her, even though she helps Jack out alot. I did like Nina though  , pity she only got a few series.

What they need to do is extend the story arcs to nearly three days, fill the stories with really hot babes, and call the show sixty-ni-... oh never mind.

The first seasons weren't bad, but it got a bit ridiculous towards the latest. I doubt i'd commit to watching another season again, though.
