Would You live in a Sky City

Post » Sat May 18, 2013 10:46 pm

So let say governments join together to make a experimental city that twice the size of Alaska and this city has a device that keep it high in the sky. Now am going to list all the things/perks that this sky city holds.

1:The city has a force field that prevents natural weather disasters like hurricanes and tornadoes from hitting the city.

2:The city has enough jobs for every individual who signs up for the project and each job will cover every thing you need.

3: You allowed to visit the main land for one week for every month and then you must return to the sky city

4:The city runs on a energy supply that requires renewal every thousand years.

5:The city has a dome that can change weather when ever you wish.

6: Every house is crafted to perfection and has the latest technology in the world and will keep on upgrading

7: Your kids must stay in the city and raise there kids in that place

8:The food will be all natural.

9:The city will have great forests and good place for animals and plants

10: Cars there will not use gas but instead a clean energy source

11: You can leave but you must be 21 years old and sign a forum stating why you want to leave and hope for a reply from 4 to 6 months

12: the force field can protect you from any type of attack.

Wouldn't like the fact that kids are not allowed to leave. That leads to communism, which means America would blast the [censored] outta the sky fortress.

Sorry if I offended anyone.

It sounds like a dull utopia. Perhaps if it was like Skyloft or some cool place like that, then yeah.

Don't see anything about it protecting from short range ballistic missiles.

These projects usually sound so expensive that only the privileged few could actually afford living there, and especially in case of USA where nobody is going to just buy a house for you in there.

Reminds me of this project where some designer wanted to build floating cities off the coast of Africa to save people in the desert. Yeah, right, and those Congolese peasants will surely be the ones who get the ticket, and not the businessmen waving around their suitcases filled with dollars.

Well, number 11 is ridiculous and makes no sense. If I can go to the mainland for one week every week then I will just never come back when I go to the mainland. I voted yes even though it'd be probably one of the dumbest ideas ever. I think a space city would be more interesting and wouldn't require energy to float.
