I don'd have any idea why, but my computer was saying one of the folders in my program files was corrupted and asked me to run chkdsk, so I put chkdsk f/ into command prompt and restarted, check disk ran and said it had fixed all the problems and I thought "Well, that wasn't so bad", then BAM! the moment I have always feared..... Blue Screen of Death. It didn't even get to the point of logging in.
I have tried running start up repair which says:
Then I tried using the command prompt in the advanced options for startup repair to force the computer to boot in safe mode, which it tried too before BSOD-ing. Then I tried booting in safe mode from the boot menu, which started loading files, but got stuck on CLASSPNP.sys every. single. time.
I'm not sure how this has happened, is there any way to fix it? Alternatively, I have no way of logging into the computer, but I managed to see all the files on it (and move them!) from the advanced startup repair option (it lets you search for an image, and when doing so you can move files around), is there any way of getting my computer to read an external hard drive when it's at this point so I can retrieve my data?
Also while in this browser part I noticed the C: drive of the computer was the D: drive, and the C: drive was an empty hard drive I hadn't seen before.
