I just downloaded/installed the Rage Tool Kit via Steam. However, when I attempt the launch the application via the desktop shortcut or directly using Steam I receive the following error messages:

Performing first time Setup...Installing: Microsoft VC Redist Package ( Step 1 of 1 )

After approximately 2 seconds the aformentioned message is followed by:

Steam-ErrorFailed to start game ( unknown error )See the Steam support site for more information

I've already attempted to contact Steam tech support, but thus far they haven't responded. Furthermore, I've attempted the following troubleshooting steps:

1: Verified integrity of tool cache ( which was successful ).

2: Deleted the 'appcache' folder.
3: Restarted computer and attempted to launch the toolkit through Steam.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm running the toolset in Windows XP. I've had NO issues running the game itself thus far. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
