Megaserver choices...

Post » Fri May 24, 2013 2:29 am

Just some questions i have about how you would like to be placed in the world on the megaserver.

What different options do you want to see offered in the choices we have when first logging onto the mega server that will ultimately decide who you will be playing with on the server??

Would you like the choices to be graded in terms of importance?

Should we be able to indicate what level of importance each category has to us individually or should ZOS decide this for us as a community?

Can we re-roll our options at a later stage as our play style may shift?

Some examples would be things such as...

Friends, Guilds, Ages, RP'rs, Group PVE Players, Solo PVE players, Questers, Grinders, Casual Players, hardcoe Players, PVP'rs,

RL Location

I personally rate

1. Friends (Because friends are good!)

2. Group PVE Players (thats how i like to play)

2. Ages (kids tend to frustrate me in MMO's, i'd much rather play with advlts)

3. Guilds (its important but i don't know if i will join one until i get right into pvp or meet a cool bunch of people in one together)

4. RP'rs (Tend to be a good bunch of people on the whole)

5. Grinders (more than questing i love just adventuring / exploring and taking on tough mobs and not having a plan laid out by quests) which is why i have never finished a GTA lol

6. Questers (cause the loot and xp is usually worth it)

7. Casual Players (because I tend to like them more than hardcoe players)

8. PVP'rs (this will get higher in priority over time i am sure but i am a PVE junkie as of now)

9. hardcoe Players (being elite or trying to convince people i am elite isn't my priority)

10. RL Location (anywhere any race doesn't matter to me)

11. Solo PVE Players (I want to meet people who want to roll in groups and play what i regard to be the most engaging aspect of an MMO)

If i ended up playing with just people on my top 5 most of the time i would be VERY happy in this game. :)

Maybe i have this whole thing wrong and it will not work as i have indicated...

You may think some of these options i have included are irrelevant or unnecessary....

You may have many more than i thought of in this short time writing it....

The only thing I care about is being able to filter out everybody under the age of 25 or so...

That's not the way it works.

i think having a system of importance would be great. as for the kids thing, i have played with many kids who were great in game and many advlts who were horrible to team with. for me i judge everyone on who they are not what age they are

From what I hear through the graqevine (not sourced mind you), when you first log on you will be given questions (likely yes or no ones) in which your overall personality determines which shard you will start off in. This is all I really know about it. I'm actually not sure of the specifics.

When I first heard of it I was under the impression that you could choose which shard you could put yourself in but later it seemed as if the server decided for you. I personally don't mind since I have no real life friends that will go on with me, but I know a lot of people who will so I can see why this is a concern.

I think we should be able to indicate which options are most important to us.

Personally I want to play with guild mates, friends, RPers, and PvPers who speak English. That's really all I care about.

"Generally, I’m a huge fan of single server solutions, and what Zenimax Online is proposing for The Elder Scrolls Online takes the whole idea a step further. You see, in The Elder Scrolls Online, players will be given the option of setting their own play preferences. Players will be asked what sort of age groups they want to play with or what playstyle preferences they have (ex. PvP, raiding, etc.) and the game will intelligently match up players of like interests when sorting out the populations of zone instances."

If people have to put down there age when they play, and if people are honest when they do so, then I think sorting by age will be viable.

"Preferred age" and "filter out everybody under 25" are two entirely different things.

If a 14 year old boy prefers playing with 30+, he could end up in the same instance like you (depending on the other preferences)
