No spankyou. Not a fan of not being able to meet up with someone else because they're on a different server. The faction restrictions are bad enough. Matter of fact, I think that may be why they did it.

Out of curiosity: Why wouldn't you have rolled on that server with your friends in the first place?

That's nice in theory, but in practice friends join without you knowing about it, you get to know them after they've joined - things happen.

That doesn't make sense to me, but that's probably just me.

Yeeeeaaahhhh awesome idea is awesome.

It worked well with games like Eve, Darkfall, etc ( well, when Darkfall actually had players...)

I get that a lot. I'm not the best at explaining things sometimes. I'm just saying that the idea is sound, but sometimes it's not always possible. What happens if, six months from release, you make a new friend IRL, discover they play ESO, but they're on a different server so you can't group up?

I dunno, I have an avoidant personality and have only played with the same people for years. That's probably where the misunderstanding is because we communicate a lot and make sure we're all on the same page before we do anything at all and rarely let people into our traveling circle, because we hop around until everyone is happy.

I imagine the average person would be boned though.

Makes sense. So are you planning on bringing your loyal cadre to ESO?

In all honesty, it was a bit of a pain in the posterior in games like Champions Online where they had one big server, and so had to shut down the game for everyone any time they needed to do some maintenance, or any time the servers unexpectedly shut down, which was a lot of the time.

Though I fully expect Zenimax to have at least slightly better servers, preferrably staffed with genetically-enhanced hamsters that can keep that wheel spinning for longer.
