We know now that when you craft there are several different slots: slots for Primary Ingredient, Secondary Ingredient, and three slots for Additives. The Primary and Secondary Ingredients are the main and are used to create an item itself. Additives are not essential but can be used to give your item extra properties. Different combinations of additives will give you different results. You can also max up to five of each additive. It allows to create really powerful items.

I can see myself crafting for hours trying thousands of different combos. If you think about it, the possibilities seem endless.

My question is will we have an in game crafting notebook? Will I need to have a real notebook on my desk?

I usually memorize stuff after a couple of time creating a recipe. I like the learning/remembering aspect of it , it just makes the game more fun if I accidentally put in a wrong ingredient.
