The Perfect MMO

Post » Thu May 30, 2013 2:52 am

I dream of the perfect MMO... that is, the perfect MMO that fits my personal opinions and beliefs, it should have:

1) One giant server so that if one person's famous, everyone can encounter him/her( :tops: )

2) Warring playable factions ( :tops: )

3) An in depth / interesting lore ( :tops: )

4) An extremely in depth economy / crafting system (We'll see, need more info)

5) A PvP Arena system ( :tops: )

6) A decent number of in depth, large, and challenging dungeons (We'll see, need more info, tbh it kinda looks like a  to me atm)

7) Open World Uninstanced PvP so that I can randomly stumble upon an enemy faction and engage in battle, preferably FORCED PvP, no flagging ( )

8) Plenty of end-game content for both PvP and PvErs ( :tops: )

9) Killer Graphics ( :tops: )

10) Lose loot upon death, personal preference right here ( )

11) Extremely fluid, non-clunky, non-buggy gameplay ( :tops: from what we know )

The above criteria is what it takes to create a perfect MMORPG in my eyes, some of these points are a lot more important to me than others (such as 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 10, and 11), but this right here is what I crave, what I want, and it just seems like TESO falls slightly short. Anything else they can add to a MMORPG is just icing on the cake like; player housing, construction of buildings and sieges in a persistent world, minigames, etc.

List and/or describe what your Perfect MMO would be like, feel free to go more in depth in regards to settings, actual gameplay styles, physics engines, etc etc.

Hurray for a list of random stuff that is almost entirely subjective!

I would not put thumps up yet for endgame PvE content. We know that Adventure Zones will be the endgame PvE content in the long term, but we don't know if they will be interesting and challenging or casual zergfests yet.

Certainly seems pretty close

Call me hyped, but the fact they didn't call it a "raid" makes me extremely excited. And besides there's still "part 2"'s of dungeons after reaching level 50. And I guess you can consider pursuing other alliances on the same character at level 50 additional PvE content.

Indeed it does, just don't get your hopes down due to some "recent" negativity that has infested the forums!

The game looks really promising and from what i have seen thus far it DOES have the TES feel! :)

I just hope we have some good social stuff like guild buildings and such in the game so people get a good community sense.

Games with longevity really need that and personally I want to play games that you don't grind through in a month or so and wait a year for the next expansion because there isn't anything more fun or worthwhile to do.

A lof of games are almost single player games with some accidental other players walking around. I really missed that in, for instance, GW2.

Indeed the single player feel i do NOT hope to have in TESO!

Had that almost all the time in Age of Conan and that ruined the game for me! Player housing, RP events and such all sound great as well as having a fun community ingame, so not the nay sayers and nitpickers that seem to "dominate" the forum lately! :lmao:

I agree, I learned along time ago, not to put much stock into reviews or what others have to say about a game. how do I know they like the same things as I do ?

A perfect mmo, I think will be the one I make myself..LOL I have never played any game online or stand alone where I liked everything the game had to offer, the best I can do is hope I like more than dislike, but I am pretty easy going and don't really nitpick that much, and I have enjoyed a lot of games for it, just my own view.. ;)

I always loved the way skills leveled based on use, and the fact that you could learn to use almost any weapon or ability on any character in TES.

This for me, along with the in-depth exploration you could do in TES locations and maps always made TES a top contender for an awesome MMO experience imo.

From the moment I first started playing Morrowind when it was released, I hoped that one day TES would be made into a multiplayer experience!

This could be the big one! I can't hadly contain myself :D

I don't ever see my perfect MMO being (re)made, (again)... it would not be a money maker, at least not a profit maker. I pretty much get lambasted for even bringing up how I think an MMO should play out(old school). I've always told myself if I were to hit the big lottery, I'd help design my own MMO... I'm sure plenty of the old farts like myself would play it.

With that said - I do enjoy today's MMO's. I thoroughly enjoyed WoW for many years and recently enjoyed SWTOR. I'm sure I'll enjoy ESO as well.

The only thing I've read about ESO that I don't care for is that it could possibly be Free-To-Play. I don't like cash shops, and I don't want to have to pay extra for stuff like more character slots, bigger inventory, fluff etc... Just let me pay $15 or $20 bucks a month and give it all to me up front.

I don't. While i have a 2500$ gaming PC i don't want this game's pvp to end up like Aion 2 years ago. Where pvp is all about fighting people running at 5 fps (or not fighting anyone at all because they don't want to pvp with low fps)
