I was just talking about that with a friend. I tolt him about ESO and how great it might be and tolt him you can wear what you want.. you can be a Mage with a Two handed Sword and a plate mail. Something like a Battlemage or something.

And hes respond was "Well if there is platemail that supports Spellcasting.. why would there be a Players without Heavy Armor?"

I didnt have an answer for that. Maybe you guys (And girls ofcourse) know more about that.

I mean.. if you enchant a Plate armor with + Destruction Damage or + Healing, Sneaking, Summon and so on.. Why would i take cloth armor? They have better or bigger bonuses to Spellcasters? Less mana use?

There have to be a penalty for that.

Almost the same question for Waepons. In TES games you had to remove your Weapon to cast a Spell. (Or one hand like in Skyrim) that makes 2 H swords not useless but if you going full Caster the Weapon was a minor Items to you. But in ESO you will have Hotkeys.. so you can go out as a Fireball throwing mage hacking on everyone with an big Claymore?

I have always wondered why spellcasters are not those that wear the heavy and stuffy armor.

They are the only ones that do not have to move much.

The answer is of course DnD sticking to old tales.

Plate Armor doesn't support spellcasters at all, passive abilities on plate armor are all about mitigating incoming damage, increase melee damage and something else I can't remember.

one can enchant/improve armors to have spell casting stats.

you only need to find plate with like only HP, survivality stats, and you can add the remaining item capacity 100% towards spell casting gear, but i am sure those pure survivality only plate items will be very hard to get, or they do not even exist.

The stats on it are no problem but you will loose out on the passivs like: increased dmg, increased crit rate, increased magicka regeneration, reduced magicka costs.
