Directon of the Game

Post » Sat Jun 08, 2013 6:03 pm

I wanted to make a poll and see what people think about the direction of the game so far, here it is. Comments are welcome :)

Only a few questions that I thought of off the top of my head besides the overall direction. I would have put an option for needs improvement but everyone would select it because almost everything can always use improvement.

Thanks

The class system needs to change, if their going to have all this customization after all they should remove the classes entirely, or at least give you a box where you can enter your own class name for roleplaying.

Personally I would like to see a system where your presented with a full class list like all the previous elder scrolls games but that only gets you started with starting abilities and items, then you can learn everything else afterward.

Can't vote, since the options are too polarizing. Some thing I may not think are that bad, but they could be better. There are some things I may not be happy with, but it could be worse. Things I don't have an opinion on yet, and things I don't care about.

Like I said in the OP, everything can always be improved. I want to know what you think right now at this moment with what we have been shown and the info we have been given. If you are opposed, why post?

No doubt this is awesome game, but I'd add zone events from Rift... They're kinda new thing and most people havent seen them yet, should be success. So, theres pretty normal story, explore zones, kind of journey.. then endgame would be Cyrodil, Heroic Dungeons, AZ/max level zones with dynamic zone events. If that isnt enough I dont know what is. Maybe dynamic dungeons too, like when you enter to dungeon, enemy packs are different each time so players need to think little bit before each pack etc. Yeah. I'd most definitely bring something dynamic to the game.

Looks asskicking so far so I'll definitely be buying, and likely succumbing to whatever payment model the put on my table.

Especially happy with how combat looks to be going, I also liked there not being any irritating names above the heads of mobs in the latest video.

I'm not opposed to saying what I think of things right now, but as I said, the given options don't really offer a way for me to specify.

Overall
Undecided, mixed. I'm not happy with some things, like the lore handling and alliances, but I'm happy with others (combat, exploration) assuming they pull through with it.

Combat
Pretty happy overall.

Class System
I'd have preferred no class system, just skills you focus on like Skyrim. But as a class system, it could be worse.

Graphics
I'm not unhappy with what I've seen, fidelity wise, but I can't say I'm content with it either. Though I'm not sure we've seen everything it's capable of, either.

Endgame PVE
Endgame PVP

Neither of these I care too much about. Generally once I reach max level and stop progressing, that's when I start thinking about making a new character. The 50+/50++ things sounds good, but it's only a crutch around the alliance restrictions that I really don't like.

Will you play ESO?
If they have some way to try it out without having to first pay a monthly sub or full box price (for whichever payment model they end up going with). How long I'll keep playing depends on how much I enjoy playing it, and the actual payment model... I'll be much less likely to continue if I have to do monthly payments indefinitely, though free to play or buy to play could work if they do it right.

after playing TERA and Neverwinter (and some f2p 'action mmos') I have some doubts on the combat system.

I kind of liked the idea of having to aim in order to hit a target.
yet in all those 'action MMOs' I used to play you had to stand still to attack, which is totally destroying any feel of action and dynamic.
