ESO for pc delayed?

Post » Wed Jun 12, 2013 1:16 am

pls clear one thing for me, is teso going to be delayed till spring 2014 for all platforms or will only PS4 and Xbox users have to wate 3 months more than us.

there s no real reason for to delay the game for PC just to get it on all platforms at the same time? is there?

The release date is determined by the time we need to make the best game possible, regardless of platform.

That's what I saw posted in another topic by a Bethesda Admin. But who knows they lied about consoles so maybe they are lying about this also and that the only reason it's delayed is because of consoles.

Thats PR for "we don't have a clue".

This was the likely case regardless of console support, pushing out release dates is the norm same with patching an unfinished game months after release.

ffs they say it was coming in 2013, so if there is even a chace that they will delay it till 2014. they need to say it officialy and not only pretend that they forget what they previously annaunce.

They have been dancing around questions since the day it was announced. Understandably so, developers tend to prematurely release info they shouldn't have. I don't however, expect them to change a whole lot on these sensitive issues, they like the vague answer approach.

It shouldn't be released later. This was originally supposed to be a PC game.

Just remember, the same type of wording was used when they (BGS and gamesas) were desribing the DLC's for Skyrim and that timeframe for all platforms ranged from 1 to 8 months. On top of that, they said "shipped". Not "released". Retailers usually have the game in stores ready to sell before they actually go on sale, sometimes weeks in advance.

Kind of a bummer, was hoping for a Fall release, but so be it. The game just keeps looking better and better.

Are they gonna keep beta-testing all way to Spring 2014 too? PC first and then consoles follows. Besides they said atm they work on guild functions, so we cant be that far. Btw, multiplatform game should mean Bethesda does not stop making MMOs in my opinion. I'd love to play Fallout MMORPG one day.

Nice catch and ouch if it means the PC version will be released early 2014.

Reading the tea leaves, it does seem to indicate that the decision to support the consoles may have come from higher ups.

They did, its on the trailer and the site. Spring 2014. That is as official as it gets.

If they talk about the 2013 date at all, they'll just mention that release dates aren't set in stone, and things happen.

If theyre going to drop a bomb like this on pc players, the least they can do is give pc players an on time release in 2013, and PS4/Xbox1 can join in Spring 2014. Im ok with it being on other consoles, but not if it delays the game.

The only reason the game was delayed was because the game now has to plan for console release. If anyone thinks they added new developers for strict console support their nuts. The staff now has to do double duty and because of this idiotic decision to bring an MMO to a platform with no historical support to play MMO's then this game will fail hard.

Worst decision ever IMO. ESO will be horrible and now everything related to this game will be twice as long, twice as hard and twice as expensive to develop. Console support will svck the lifeblood of this MMO away from all facets of development and push back patch cycles, expansion cycles etc etc etc.

I will now no longer support this game due to this decision, it is the worst thing they could of ever made.

If they say spring 2014 then they actually mean "summer 2014 if we are lucky". Never mind. Gives me more time to save up for a new PC - seem as how I will never touch a console as long as I live and breathe.

PS4 will have a beta exclusive. https://twitter.com/PlayStation/status/344282307861045248

I guess they mean open beta, since the closed betas have already started on the PC.

Guranteed. this game is a full year form release just so you know the business quarter for spring 2014 ends in june. Good luck Zeni only thing on the horizon that remotely looks good for MMO'rs is EQ next. I would be lying if I said I was not disappointed.

I don't know how much more definite you can get than this than an unexpected delay. Which is usually unexpected (whodathunk)

Since there was never a release date in the first place until yesterday, there has been no delay.
