To Matt Firor et al:

As you can imagine, the recent news about ESO going to consoles has the player community in a bit of an uproar. There are many concerns, all of which are valid. I will highlight the big ones:

First of all, dumping the news on us in your chosen manner has a lot of people feeling betrayed. "Hey look!" They're saying. "Another big MMO company has slapped us in the face with nothing more than a big cash grab." We thought things were going to be different this time. Sadly, history is known to only repeat itself.

There are concerns over population densities. Yes, it is good that the consoles and PCs will be on different Megaservers, but by splitting the population, I wonder just how "Mega" these servers are going to be. I wonder how populatd the servers will be when you have players opting out of the PC game to play with their buddy who only has a console. You want a AAA MMORPG? You can't do it with ghost town servers. Will the servers need to be merged eventually to solve this problem? Will they be merged to allow PC and Console people to play with their friends if they raise enough stink?

Population density aside, we have most people's number one concern: maintaining a quality AAA MMORPG for the PC. Are you going to dumb down the game to make it playable on consoles? Are we not going to get the quality game we were all hoping for? Are you splitting your design team in half now to cater to the console game? Will content be extra slow to be released, with slow patches? And then pushing the release date to spring 2014? That hurts guys.

The only way I can see this being successful is to hire enough people to have proper dedicated design groups to make 2 separate games: the original one we were all expecting for PC and one for console adaptation. I would *love* to see the PC version go back to its original release date, but I don't mind push backs if it is to ensure a polished product is released. A push back to coincide with console adaptation and then sales boosting is *not* a valid reason IMO. And there absolutely should be content and patch release for PC separate from consoles. We should see the PC stuff first and then the adapted console releases.

Please address these concerns ASAP. You know how us gamers are- like skittish horses. We need reassurance you will be treating this project like a AAA MMORPG. Because us gamers are also fickle too. There are already people talking about jumping ship to different games.
