I have cooled off over the last couple of days. ESO on consoles /meh ok.

It would have been nice to see the game ship in 2013 - but it is clear, the PC version of ESO is being delayed to match the launch of the console... they've even stated something to that effect in one or two of the E3 vids.

With that said, we're already having to suffer a delay because of the consoles... I would still like to see something official, in writing on their website, to the tune of how/why the PC experience of ESO will not be degraded/delayed further due to a console version of the game...

For example... say what differences will there be between the PC and console client...

GUI?

Chat support?

Larger Battles?

Land Mass Size?

View Distances?

Level of Detail? (graphics)

etc..

Basically anything that will be different between gameplay on a PC vs a Console.

The PC side of me keeps saying "Don't be a fool! RTS, FPS, and MMO is for PC!" but the console side of me says "You know you want to see what an MMO can be like on Console!". The obvious answer is of course PC is right, there are to many advantages of playing an MMO on PC. It's not like Assassins Creed or something that is meant for console. PC gamers will have the MMO experience necessary to form better groups, and I always preferred to be guildless. So I am basically forced to pub, unless I find a guild that doesn't try to guilt trip me into playing on nights when I have better things to do. But at least now console gamers will have the chance to get MMO addicted. However, the chance to play an MMO with my friends who don't bother with having a gaming PC is tempting. Consoles are more accessible so that means more real world friends. However unless they somehow make the PS4 and Xbox1 able to play on the same servers that incentive doesn't really hold water.

Not to mention how obvious my long hours of playing would be to my wife if I'm not hiding in my office and instead out in the living room.

There is but 1 truly deciding factor. If ESO is subscription based and if my Xbox live gold membership covers that cost... im going console because I am already paying for that anyway. But if the subscription cost is extra, then I am going PC. Because if I am saving money by playing in the living room, my wife will understand.

If the next gen consoles specs are better than the low-end computers they are shooting for right now I don't think you need to worry about level of detail being affect, blame the low end computers they are trying to include.
