Ps4 and keyboard and mouse.

Post » Sat Jun 15, 2013 8:20 pm

First off i know some are very upset with the recent cross platform anounncement, so mad i am almost afraid to post this. I literally fell off the couch when i saw eso was coming to the ps4. Reason being i was buying a computer just for this game but was sad to leave my friends behind on psn, i would never another game for a long time. So for me this is amazing news.

Anyway my question. Do we even know this yet? Will we be able to use a mouse and keyboard on the ps4 for this game?

Also another huge question i have. Is the game going to release at the same time? Also will we be able to play with pc players?

I cant wait for this game. Anyone angry about this i get it, i really do. After skyrim it even scares me but i have very high hopes or ps4 and eso. I am glad we can all enjoy it now. At least now i can save 1500 dollars on not having to buy a gaming pc.

Why wouldn't you? I can say with utmost certainty that yes you will be able to plug a mouse and keyboard into your USB ports and use them.

Can probably plug them in..you're on a different server on a console away from PC players and it's all releasing at the same time

It's almost a certainty that you'll be able to use a mouse and keyboard on the PS4--Your PS3 already supports them (though you may need to restart the console after hooking them up). Hopefully ZOS integrates support for them to be useful for more than chatting into the console versions, but if that's not the case, it wouldn't hurt the experience too much--The control scheme should be fairly well-optimized for using a controller. The only reason most PS3 games don't support the keyboard and mouse is because the developers don't take advantage of the fact that they can support it without requiring it. When I play GTA4, I use a real keyboard at the ingame computers--It's much faster than moving a cursor around to type.

Save $1500? As in you were prepared to drop nearly $2000 on a new PC? You'd only need to spend even half that much if you were trying to get to the top end of what's available for PC hardware, and that would assume that whatever PC you currently have is so old that almost no newer hardware will work with it. That's not even getting into the fact that prebuilt systems (even customized ones) charge way to much for what's basically plugging things in (PC assembly really is that easy, all you need are eyes, hands, and a small screwdriver). If you're looking to acquire a gaming PC, buy the parts and either build it yourself, or find a friend willing to do it for the cost of a pizza.

Indeed. You can easily build a decent gaming computer with about 500$. But more you spend the better it gets.

A $400 PS4 is probably better than a $500 PC for gaming

Propably. But a 500$ can do a heck of a lot more stuff than the console can.

And just want to add I got nothing against consoles or their players. Just to avoid any unnecessary flaming.

I got a PS3 there but I never actually play it. Bought it for the kids and they love it.

I feel sorry for the hardcoe Halo fans.

They need to buy the crappier console just for the reason to play a game series.

I remember playing eq adventures on my ps2 with a mouse and keyboard. I think it would be safe to say yes, you will be able too.

Oh, I know--I built my current rig for somwhere between $500-$600 two years ago (that includes the cost of the operating system), and I've only really done minor upgrades to it during that time--I added a smallish SSD for the boot drive, and filled the RAM out the the motherboard's maximum capacity (not that I really needed to do either, the PC itself is a hobby that just happens to support the gaming hobby). Everything I play plays well enough, but I need to start saving up some money for a beefier video card--the current one is a budget model NVidia GeForce 650 that I had to pick up when the cooling fan for the first card died and I didn't catch it in time.

Consoles will more than likely run an inferior version of ESO. I expect an Increased number of loading screens and load-screen times. as well as reduced environment quality (night sky, weather, fogging distance, etc). The apparent support for hundreds on-screen players will also likely be reduced to no more than one hundred. Console commands are one of the best "tools" in Elder Scrolls games for quick-fixes to glitches and the like these to will likely be unavailable to console players.

Ya i was building it myself. It was about 2000 because of the monitor and everything i wanted. I was getting a crazy nice build going. I spent about 6 months researching and going back and forth with my pc freinds and forums and ya it was a little over two but i was starting with nothing. I looked into the builds that were a little cheaper but i needed more, i wanted the best of the best. The first build i had going went almost to five thousand and that was buying each part at the lowest cost possible lol. I had the money so i wanted to get what i can. I would never let someone build me a pc. Now im just gonna spend around 450 for everything and itll still game just not on ultra settings and, main use will be for home. Itll still be nice though.

I hear ya though. Most computer guys would say they would of died for my build i was going for lol. Thanks for the input.

on the pc version you will most likely have the /stuck command though. they will probably have something similar in a game menu on the consoles though. you cant reload a saved game so..

We can already support a hundred or so now on an eight year old ps3. I think the ps4 is gonna supirse a lot of people.

I look at it this way. Eso and other awesome mmo's would not be anywhere near the ps4 of they thought in anyway it would not be good. There must be something we dont know. Devs keep saying how awesome the ps4 is.

Can i ask a serious question? Ok thanks lol. If you built a computer that was almost an exact replica of a ps3, 8 year old hardware can you play games that looked like uncharted and the last of us on it? Why is it that games look better as the years go, besides the fact the devs are more familair with it.
