Nobody knows if there is a light spell. Anyways, I do not want it to be so dark that I cannot see anything.
I don't expect nighttime to be incredibly dark, but it would be nice if it was a bit darker though. One thing we heard from E3 though was that new things were suppose to happen at dark that won't happen during the day. I wonder what that means? New mobs that only come out at night? Different events happen? So many possibilities.
I love this idea. When LotRO first started there were several quests that could only be completed at night. It has the same type of cycle they have presented for ESO which makes me very happy. Of course most of those night quests have been changed as the game has aged, but it was great fun.
With no way to sleep or jump to morning I would not want it to be so dark that a torch is required. I can imagine the following scenario happening
Log out while you are out in the wilderness during the day. You are out of torches and meant to stock up on them, but you ran out of time. You now log back on, night has just fallen and you are in a dark, unfamiliar wilderness. You are unable to see where you are going. Instead of blundering around in the dark you decide to just log out for a few more hours until the day/night cycle switches back to day.
I doubt they will make the gameplay difficult at night without a torch or light spell while outside, but maybe they could make some dark caverns really dark if no light was available. Consider that there is some sort of light source outside I guess.
I would like to see random caves/dungeons that you randomly come across require the use of a torch or light spell. The darkness in the open world however, should be like in the pictures that were linked above.
