Well, it was a great show, went off air, was rescued, and now we're back where we started with it coming to an end. Going to watch the newest episode tonight at 10 pm est myself.

All good things must come to an end sometime.
At least it'll go out while it's still funny instead of holding on until it's too painful to watch.
Final season, eh? I guess it's about time.
Im a big fan of futurama, but frankly I don't really like the newer seasons since they came back on the air.
They just seem to be going for the cheap laughs lately, and basically are just taking the current Meme's now a days and incorporating them into their show, which I think is dumb as it's now like year 3010 or something like that. Between 3000 and 3005 they don't have any jokes about facebook, twitter and anything current to now a days, but now since they've come back on the air (which in show its like year 3007 or so), it seems half their jokes are just about current events and stuff. (like now a days current events, in 2013) They already got a show for that, The Simpsons. Half the reason why futurama was so funny was cus it was dealing with outlandish futuristic stuff, and their jokes didn't have to come from current internet Memes to make people laugh.
All in all, I'm not really interested in seeing new futurama. I'll eventually watch this final season in the years to come, but I don't see it being that great to be honest.
I heard the final episode will be
I really enjoyed Futurama. I stopped watching it after season 5(?) because of that large gap. I suppose I should resume sometime, but I have more interesting things to watch right now...
Eh. Some of the movies and Comedy Central episodes were pretty good, but there were more and duds than ever before. It seemed like the writers were spending more time getting on their soapboxes or attempting to stay relevant, and less time actually being funny or telling good stories. And I hated how they made all sorts of retcons that took out the punch for the more dramatic episodes (like Luck of the Fryrish and Jurassic Bark). The four seasons that aired on Fox were good enough and came to an end with a proper sendoff. As far as I'm concerned, that's when Futurama ended.
To be fair, Groening has no real control over when The Simpsons can end and he never did. This is pretty much why The Simpsons exists in the first place; it was either make a cartoon based off of his Life in Hell comic and lose control over it due to publishing rights and all that crap, or create something new for the executives to hack up.
Reminds me of certain other matt groening creation...
I watched season 6 as it came out and thought for the most part it was entertaining. not all homeruns, but more good than bad IMHO. though they did seem to rely on raunchy advlt humor too often with their new comedy central freedom.
I saw the first 4 seasons so many times on reruns that I had gotten a bit sick of them, so it was nice to have something new with the mini movies and new season, hopefully they can go out in a flash of brilliance! though if he truly is shopping it around again, they may leave it open ended instead of giving it the proper sendoff it deserves...
