How can there be any delays when they have not given a Release Date yet?
According to the Dev statements from E3 based on feedback from testers and their own view of needing more time to polish and get the game ready for launch it was pushed back to Spring 2014. Game would likely have been pushed back regardless of the console announcement.
This.
However yes there was an estimated time for a 2013 release, where that came from i don't know. Even if it did come from zen, it would be nothing more than an estimate.
Could consoles add more time for completion, absolutely it could, anytime you add more stuff or create more work it takes more time or more money even then it still ends up taking more time.
Negative. In the interviews at E3 they said that the beta feedback implied that they still had work to do and features to implement.
The one with Nick Konkle is a prime example.

I'm just thrilled it's going to be released on consoles. I would have missed out otherwise.
Both Next Gen consoles are X86 based CPUs, same as what's on your PC. So, other than some file formats and some other console specific administrative stuff, I don't see much of a difference in games now from a nuts and bolts and code standpoint.
Huh? Nick K clearly stated many times that it was a 2013 release. So...
Should go back to some interviews and listen to what they say lol.
They said in all of their interviews it would be out in 2013 for sure, then all of a sudden they say next year on the same day they announce it for consoles, quite a coincidence don't you think...
I didn't see a definite date. Just like "Holidays 2005"; some unspecified point in 2013 isn't a definite release date. They don't give those out until they know for sure they will make it. Now, if they has said "March 31st, 2006", or "November 11th 2011" those would be specific dates.
If they were getting feedback from the beta testers, and decided, consoles or not, the game needed more time, they changed the estimated release. I'd rather they push the game back than release it so buggy it can't be played.
Very true but as you said, we should expect windows to change as they usually do all the time. To say the consoles were the sole reason(I know you didn't say that) but if anyone does say it is the sole reason, that is a far stretch given games constantly push out dates.
The lack of a definite date doesn't mean it wasn't delayed.
They beat a dead horse with it being released IN 2013, and what happened? Oh look, they're releasing it in 2014. Which means it was delayed from their expected release year.
And anyone who believes that the delay wasn't because of consoles has clearly not been following ESO for the last year.
I think theres many reasons... feedback from players, multiplatform MMO, and I think its just better to wait a bit longer tbh, unless new competitors enters, everyone is gonna play ESO. I suppose Valves MMO should be just around the corner and of course Blizzard Titan.
