Realizing Your DreamsAspirations

Post » Sat Jun 22, 2013 9:45 pm

Have a lot of time on my hands to think about stuff, and i've really been focused on my dreams, or lack there of. I can't help but look around at times and see people in similar situations. They try hard, fail, and can't regain their ground. Even when they've managed to catch a brake it's barely enough to sustain them.

Have you managed to fulfill your dreams/hopes?

Nope, not yet, but I'm getting there. I think the kind of person I've become is more or less the fulfillment of one of my childhood dreams, though. As well as staying fit after having lost 65lbs ten years ago.

I tend to break up my dreams and hopes into smaller, more easily attainable things, though. So far, I'm hoping to attain a dream that I thought I missed out on in 2009, which was seeing Nine Inch Nails in concert (yes, NIN is one of my favorite bands, haha) since I've seen so many of my other less favorite bands in concert already. So I'm saving up to get a really good seat (crap he charges a lot for concerts).

Other than that, I'm in a way fighting against major odds to get my schooling done, like at an actual university. I had to put my school-related dreams on hold many times in the past, and finally, at age 22, got sick of seeing people my age graduating already. So despite working 45 hours a week, I'm doing part-time schooling and trying to take classes every semester to get that done, since having at least a bachelors degree was always my dream. I started out doing full-time schooling and full-time working, but that was driving me nuts and making me very depressed, so I reluctantly scaled back. I already have a good job that could lead into a career if I choose to make it so, but I've still always wanted the degree, and I don't plan to work in this field the rest of my life.

At some point I hope to have children (after attaining my degree and working a bit more), but that is very, very far off at my age, and pregnancy scares the [censored] out of me, so we shall see if I will have spawn yet.

Aside from short term goals that aren't very important or amazing, I don't have any aspirations. I'm too young to be realistically thinking about that stuff. But I do wish everyone else the best with their goals. Thinking about how much you svck doesn't solve anything though :)

I have many short term goals and a few long time dreams. Striving towards only one thing for the rest of your life would drive anyone insane.

I'm kind of getting there I suppose.. my family is still in the process of moving, so I'll just have to wait before I can really focus on my writing. In the time I've been with my dad, I've gotten a few new interesting books about writing in general so I have those for later use.. I'm thinking I'll write some essays in my free time, but for now my writing will have to wait until later in the year (or at least until we're settled down again).

I haven't fulfilled any. Doubt I ever will.

I doubt I'll be a good writer, and the only other job I see myself doing will most likely never work, seeing as how I've got some kind of hex on me, preventing me from having a computer longer than a year.

So yeah, I'll just live an empty life, wistfully thinking about what could have been followed by the jarring sense of reality.

My dreams:

Find the love of my life. (0%)
Visit all 196 nations on earth. (0.6%)

I have made zero (or close to zero) progress on either. But I will...
