Its not hard to understand, if they catch there is realistic drug use within a game that gives benefits, it gets banned.

Its a weird quirk, yes, but its not as if developers dont know about it by now.

Since it is a former penal colony you would think they would have more relaxed laws on stuff like this...

Every game should now use drugs, just to show those Aussies!

Is fallout refused classification?

Using stimpacks when your low won health = using amphetamines/methamphetamine when your tired/injured to keep you going..

What about Beer, Spirits snd Wine in TES/Fallout?

I don't see why game developers haven't just abandoned Aus by now.

You're forgetting, Buffout, Psycho, Med-X and Jet etc. I'm sure that's the RL equivalent to steroids, heroin, morphine, and, maybe, speed or some kind of solvent.

- Actually Fallout is banned apparently.

I guess Skyrim is allowed in Australia because alcohol is a harmless substance, or not considered a drug?

Though it is a drug and it is harmful, but it's so integrated into society that they'd be daft to ban a game for having it when it's legal in RL.

I wonder how popular imported consoles and games are down under?

On a positive note I herd somewhere ( TGS i believe ) that Undead Labs are tryin to hammer out the details with MS to make the SoD MMO a reality... Good News Every One....

It depends on how many gamers in Australia really wanted Saints Row IV and State of Decay.

Heroine, Steroids, etc, those are pretty integrated in to society also. I'm pretty sure you can get these legally, and maybe even for the same purposes as in the video games (improving/maintaining a function)

But, I guess that's censorship for you,

Maybey devs should just insert a cut scene where a doctor gives the player a perscription.

Actually, maybe that might work with The Classification Board?

Or maybe the message is, even if your dying, don't do drugs even if they will save your life?

Is Mass Effect banned there? You do use a gel/drug that keeps you alive if you're hurt.

I don't think it's so much the drugs that help keep you alive, it's the needless drugs like Med-X from the Fallout series that just raises your stats for a bit.

But Skyrim does have drugs. Skooma, anyone? You can buy them and drink them. There are potions that restore your stamina and magicka levels.

Though with Skooma, it is made clear that it's a harmful drug that hurts people, like that Argonian lady in Riften who begs you to help her stop her skooma addiction.

But in Fallout stimpacks = stimulant packs = meth/amphetamine packs? Like what they use in times of war. They give you that boost you need but doesn't restore limb damage.. sounds pretty accurate after hearing stories of people high on that stuff not noticing they have a broken limb.

As far as medx, its resemblance to something irl is not as close as stimpacks

It was until they changed Med-X from it's original name, Morphine.

So wait, because its refused classification there it can't be sold there.

What if you buy it elsewhere and bring it back or buy it online to play at home? Will the police raid your home and charge you with something?
