sydney666's final days.

Post » Sun Jun 30, 2013 3:44 pm

I just found out that sydney666, the author of http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30450//?, is dying. He has 12-18 months to live due to spreading cancer. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/articles/1293/? is his post on the Nexus describing the situation. He is also taking any donations to help pay for his burial plot as he has no life insurance and has been denied it.

To mods, I am not sure if this is against any rules to post a link where a author is asking for donations, but given the situation I was hoping this would be ok. If not please just remove the link as I feel that members of the community should know.

Wow.

I...feel so sorry for him. This mod of his was very popular but sad to see the owner having to face the worst challenge anyone can have. My thoughts are with him and his family. Hopefully, and I am sure he is, he's spending the remaining years of his life doing what matters to him.

*sigh* :(

OMG! This is sad. His mod was incredible. Man, this is terrible, he is such a cool guy.

UPDATE: thanks @Charon for letting me know about this, I just donated. Believe it or not, this is the first time I've donated on the internet. Thanks again for letting us know.

I feel bad for his wife and kids most of all. They have my condolences for when it comes. :(

Indeed. Stories like this makes you think how much we take life for granted.

Around this time (July 4th, specifically) is when my dad got the news of having a few months to live. As I tell others these days, I guess it was better to have it happen around this time of the season than shortly before or during the holidays. What I mean is that it was worth it to have one last Thanksgiving and Christmas with my dad, and sydney's family has that chance too.

And yes, my condolences when the time comes...

I used that mod back when it was first starting out. Looks like it's really been expanded.

It's always sad to see someone go like this, and sadder when they've touched your life in even the smallest of ways.

Sad news indeed. :( Great mod; I've been using it for a while now. It's somewhat jarring when you hear news like this about somebody you only know through their work. Sort of makes them more human in your head. My condolences to him and his family.
