Previous TES DLC vs MMO Cash Shop prices

Post » Wed Jul 03, 2013 2:55 am

Both Knights of the Nine for Oblivion and Dawnguard for Skyrim cost around $10 I believe, which I think is a fair price considering the content. So far so good, Bethesda. However, the majority of F2P MMOs these days charge some pretty outrageous prices for simple cash shop items, such as $20 for certain mounts (This would be LOTRO!), or $10 for a cosmetic outfit (such as SWTOR!). I stopped playing these games, mainly because I became disgusted with their cash shops and the insane prices for simple things that honestly shouldn't cost more than an single dollar.

Please tell me Zenimax isn't thinking of following suite with something like this. If the game must have a cash shop (would prefer it didn't), please keep your prices fair and reasonable.

Anyone else agree with me and/or would be potentially upset if they weren't?

We dont even know if there will a ingame shop like that, and also add None because i would never buy something in a F2P or B2P MMO.

I know with GW2 it was $10 for 800 gems and I think if you wanted more bank space it cost 600 gems. So that's like $8 for each line of bank space.

Which is a rip off.

$1 for each purchase is fair to me and maybe $5 for a complete outfit.

But I hate those cash shops and would rather pay a monthly sub where you earn mounts and pets in game from quests or random luck.
