Endgame & Raiding

Hi there.

I am a long-time LOTRO player, 6 years, guild-leader (40 active members) and SKYRIM fan :)

Many of us are excited about ESo over at LOTRO and have been avidly awaiting launch.

Our LOTRO guild is made up of casual players, PvPers and hardcoe raiders from around 16 years to 60.

We were all pretty much ready to skip over to ESO - until now

With reports that there will be no end-game raids or instances beyond 4 man dungeons, or gear progression beyond crafting, this has put a major spanner in the works.

Raids on LOTRO have been the social fabric of what has kept our guild together. Otherwise people just drift off.

Meeting up 3-4 times a week, fielding various teams, having jokes and laughs and enjoying the raiding experience.

I love the sound of the open world events, great feature - bring it on, but please please please do not exclude 6 person instances, or 12 person raids.

please re-consider this idea, raids are very much at the heart of a game for many MMO vets, for many of us, levelling and gearing-up is very much the road to raiding for many people.

I understand that raiding is not for everyone but you are excluding a whole bunch of people.

p.s. I also read no auction house only trading! That's a real oversight. Who wants to spend hours finding trading partners? crafting and selling your wares is a great feature in MMOs, without an AH how can this be done.

ESO has so much potential please don't let it be just a multi-player game.

thanks for listening.

There will be large group endgame PvE content, they just refuse to call them raids because they don't want to call them raids. They call them Adventure Zones. No I don't know why they chose to do this but yes there will be large group endgame PvE content.

There is "raids" just not your typical raids you are used to seeing and taking part in. Adventure Zones is one concept they discussing and since this is just one concept means there is another one they haven't told us yet. Little information is being said thus far on End Game but that doesn't mean there isn't any. We already know they are working on 24man content.

As for Gear Progression - Crafting will be the main source for gear but that isn't to say you don't have to participate in PvE "End Game" or PvP in order to get the items you need to craft it .

As for the auction house, they already announced there will be an "auction house" type of feature they still need to iron out the details as to if it will be megaserver wide or just campaign etc. there is a lot they need to contend with when it comes to mass trading since they are developing the game around the Megaserver.

They are also doing what DAOC did with its endgame. While there will be plenty of PVE endgame, its looks like the main focus will be PVP in Cyrodiil gaining alliance ranks in which you can spend points in the AVA skill lines. Fighter, seigemaster, and warlord. So instead of gear you will make your character better threw these skills. probably like passive bonuses and stats. If it does work like DAOC's realm rank system you will continue to build your character for years after max level and alliance ranks become very hard to get. Also dont be put off by Cyrodiil if your not a PVP person. Cyrodiil is massive, about teh same size as each alliances home lands. Cyrodiil will have its territory divided amonst the 3 sides with each side having their lands to protect. there will also be everything here you can do in the main lands like exp, quest, explore craft, and do dungeons. this is also where your guild will claim a keep to control as your guilds home, you will want to upgrade it and protect it.

A progression rank system that improves your character is much better than a gear progression system because it keeps crafters and their gear important for endgame and basically a reason to invest in a gear crafter. Darkage of Camelot proved this
