The Beta Application Form

Post » Wed Jul 10, 2013 1:38 pm

Back when I registered for the beta in January, I remember it was fairly complicated. You could select which games you've beta tested and which games you've played, and then it asked you to paste in a copy of your PC's diagnostics. Well, when looking over the form now, it doesn't seem to ask for any of that stuff anymore. It's fairly straight-forward: name, address, date of birth, and do you accept the terms.

When did this change and why? I'm concerned about this.

That's probably the console version, which wouldn't require DXDIAG.

Nope. You can click a box that says PC, but it requires no additional information. That's why I'm worried. I'm worried that people who sign up virtually anonymously will have a better chance at getting in than somebody like me, who signed up with a relatively low performance PC. My PC can play ESO, but I don't think my diagnostics would have impressed them.

Check the new beta form out for yourself. One page. No information.

They figure they have enough entries from which they will selectively pick people based on specific criteria.

From now on anyone who applies will just enter a random lottery based on pure luck.

But can the older applications still get in based on luck? I assume so, but I think people like me are still going to be nervous.

You're setting yourself up for a letdown expecting to get an invite. Put in your application, pray to God, Satan, Fonzi, whatever...and keep sending those gift baskets to Zenimax devs.

I know. But I'd like to go from thinking I have no chance to some chance. More than likely, I'll have to wait until the open public beta.

I noticed this as well but they probably have so many applications that anyone to sign up now will most likely not get a chance
