Not following you. How is ignoring them redundant with being bothered by it?
Besides, my point is if you do nothing, then that is tantamount to condoning it.

You choice, but so is my putting you on ignore. I don't tolerate racists etc, and anyone who won't even click a button is either one or so apathetic as to be just as bad.
The customer service volunteer program worked excellent in Ultima Online years ago but that was then and this is now and I no longer think it would be a very good idea. Back then it seemed like more people cared about the job they did and the customer service in UO was excellent in fact it was the best of any MMO I have ever been a part of.
If you reported something a Counselor would eventually appear and usually within 5 to 10 minutes or less, this person was just someone who understood all aspects of the game and could help with 90% of all problems that were reported including arguments between one or more players. They were trained to listen to all sides and be a kind of mediator in the argument. If they could not solve the problem and they felt it was worthy of a GM looking at it they would report it and then you could expect a visit from a GM quite soon after that. Like I said 90 % of all problems that come up in MMO's can be solved by someone who knows more about the game then most players do and it was a very good way to keep those types of problems from ever involving a GM and then they could concentrate on the 10% that really did warrant their attention.
Anyway like I said I don't think this would work now because there are too many people who have no morals what so ever when it comes to anonymity on the internet, they think they can get away with anything and it could be very bad if people like that made it into the program.
I see what you are saying, but in my mind even a "12 yr old" mind needs to be responded to the same way as an advlt mind. They may not grasp the subtler aspects of the conversation but my condemnation of them and refusal to continue to interact with them at least removes the possibility of them not knowing some people will not tolerate that.
As to not given them undue attention, agreed and I said above that sometimes that is what they want, ie attention etc. So normally I say my piece and move on.
Also, what Rahl just said.
