Levels and Skills vs unskilled new player

Post » Tue Jul 16, 2013 8:29 am

Do we have any info on how powerful a skilled up levelled player will be versus a new player level 1?

I would hate to see high level players being so superior that it is unrealistic. Games like PlanetSide work so well as the new player still has a chance of killing an experienced one.

Ok the experienced player will have the upper hand but a low levelled character should still be able to hurt the experienced one.

Any discussions on this previously?

If you have better gear and are more skilled than someone you should ALWAYS beat them with ease.

A group of low skilled players with clubs should still have a good chance of taking down a high level character though I hope.

In a nutshell I hope that your character skills are not as important of player skill. Player skill might be things like sneaking behind, jumping and attack from a ledge, dodging really well, etc vs whack and slash standing still facing your opponent.

Right, because 110 pound nerds beat up 3rd degree black belts all the time.

Put this in game terms...

50th level mage with 400 hp and 100 point fire ball with 600 mana VS. 1st lvl apprentice with 100 hp, and a 10 damage fireball.

Hmm.... who would I bet on?

as Frakthefriendly said, it's an RPG after all.
so you begin as a little fool just to be the superior master of all classes in the end.

face the bitter truth, if you don't like it you have to look for another genre.

That's pretty much the basic elements of RPGs. The stronger you are over something the easier the fight is suppose to be.

does it matter?

from what i understand you can go to cyrodil at lvl 10, and when you are there you get scaled up to lvl 50 (or was it 49)

so only difference is basicly more skills to choose from for the higher lvl one and gear

scaling will get you being a bit under level 50.

however trying to fight a level 50 player with a level 10 character would be rather pointless as a level 10 character lacks in utility skills, which after all are the key to success in PvP.
