Casting spells?

Post » Thu Jul 25, 2013 11:14 am

Hi there TESO fans !

Does anybody have a clue of which concept will be used when using spells? Will you need a staff, or are you able to cast straight from your hand like in skyrim? Or will there be a similar sort of thing as in oblivion, can have a staff as well as one spell?

Sorry if it has already been asked, have registered literally 5 minutes ago >.>

Thanks for replying !

Yeah i've seen that, but i was hoping you could use JUST your hands for spellcasting, without weapons staffs or anything, like skyrim pretty much.. without the staffs.

You don't cast spells with your hands like you did in Skyrim. They are going back to the old school style of TES where you can cast spells regardless of weapon. Now there are some restrictions to this though. You must have a Destruction Staff equipped if you want to use the Destruction Magic Skill Line. Same thing goes for the Restoration Skill Line, you need to have a Restoration Staff equipped. But spells found in the Class, Racial, Mages, Fighters, Vampire, Werewolf skill lines don't require you to use a staff to use them. You can be using a sword and shield and still be casting spells from say the Storm Call skill line that Sorcerers have.

Yeah, they are basically doing the Oblivion style for this. This game started development like a year after Oblivion was released and a year or two before Skyrim even started development. So many things about this game will be taken from Oblvion/Morrowind than I think Skyrim.

I guess thats a good thing, i found oblivion much more interesting, the side quests almost matched the main quest which amazed me, however the casting did have some benefits in skyrim ... but it will give users much more freedom, allowing weapons , shields and magic at the same time.
