PC Players? Anyone? :)

Post » Fri Jul 26, 2013 4:50 am

Just wondering how many of us here are going to go with the PC? I thought about trying out the next gen consoles but mainly because most of my online friends are sticking with the PC so I wanna follow. Mainly, I always play to have fun but I'll go where my friends go. I look forward to 2014 to play this MMO and meet other people among it. :) So if you ever see me running around feel free to toss me a invite :P

I'd say this forum is probably 80% PC.

I feel that a majority of the playerbase will be on PC. I feel upwards of 70% will be on PC compared to the next gen consoles.

I think PC could have the higher playerbase simply because not everyone is or wanting a new One/PS4. One of the main reason's why I never bought a PS3 and I was a fan of the DC Universe Online when I first heard they were making it but after awhile PC has way more players over the PS3. Another thing I'm thinking of is how different is the ratio going to be between the three factions.

Well on one of the polls, it's either on this page or the next, the factions are pretty much dead even. That was unheard of about two months ago, hell even two weeks ago. Normally EP was leading around 50% of the playerbase, with DC falling behind around 25%. But in the past couple weeks DC and AD have really been picking up steam and have closed the gap considerably. But I still expect that EP will be the largest faction once the game launches because not everyone goes to forums or really even follow the news of the game.

Definitely going to play it on PC. I still cannot comprehend how someone will play an MMO without a keyboard.

PC & Mac are both respectable in my opinion. Both are capable of reaching higher limits sometimes limited by the consoles. Either or the exp is always highly enjoyable. Another note, the communities may offer a different experience and eventually deciding the most favorite of the bunch.

Considering that this is one of the few MMO titles (popular anyway) that is available on a console platform, I would think the majority of the players would be on PC, as that is where that crowd plays. However, I do know a large percentage of TES players do so on the consoles, so I would not be surprised if it gets close to 50/50 between the consoles and the PC.

But, I am not sure how the control layout is going to work unless you can use a keyboard, as there are usually so many key to use in an MMO. That alone could keep the game more PC based than console, depending on how it's implemented.

Master race reporting for duty. j/k. Never tried an mmo on console so I'm not sure how effective the controls will be, I assume they will have radial menus for consoles for easier access to skills but it could get weird in the heat of battle. I would imagine most people will be playing this on pc, however, the consoles will probably have a strong player base considering eso will be launching shortly after the consoles launch.

The PC server will also have the benefit of two platforms playing on the same server, PC-Windows and Mac. The console versions will be seperated from themselves and naturally be smaller. Also because of how few MMO titles are out there for consoles, initially the PC will dominate in size plus the actual available playerbase for console will be small since I don't expect the new consoles to sell record amounts in the 6 months they'll be on sale before ESO is released whereas most people that will want to play on PC will already have a powerful enough system to run it on low settings. Over time though as the game gets out there and more people buy the consoles, they will get a larger population going but neither XB1 or PS4 by themselves will be able to match the PC-Mac user base.

It's not hard and it's actually my preference. I do it now with SWToR (well did, I don't play it anymore except every once in a while when I'm bored and catch up with a few former guildies).

I'm looking to build a whole new rig by the time this MMO is released. I already know like 5-6 friends who have already been considering of playing this when it comes out. Which will be nice.. Now the bad part is getting everyone to try to agree on which faction to play as. If not, I will see them on the battlefield. :) I personally just find my gaming experience to be better on PC. Not saying nothing is wrong with consoles but majority of the games I play after X amount of time I get bored. Could be I just haven't found the right game of course :P
