I've been informed the other day that last names in ESO are mandatory.

Seeing as though some races don't use last names I want to know how & does it affect your role play/gameplay?

thumbs up for middle names, the character i'll be playing has 3 part name which will not work in 2 parts.

Is it a set in stone thing or just something that was merely mentioned?

I don't like it. I think we should be able to choose if we want a surname or not. I thought ES was more about freedom and flexibility, but unfortunately an MMO seems to take some freedom away.

Even so we should be able to have only a first name if we want. There should be more choice.

i think it's stupid, but it does introduce some interesting possibilities with naming.

For instance a Khajit named "Mr Bigglesworth"

Man, hopefully it is not. I usually am pretty good adjusting to small changes like this but this change is just too awkward for me.
