Storage.

Housing will not be implemented on launch as far as i can tell. But there are some whispers of it being added further down the road, this being said how is it going to be added, i myself would be happy with just a guild housing system. But until they are added where are we going to store our overflow of Loot/Resources? It would svck if we had to just keep some resources, use them then go out and find some more that we actually need. Player housing solves this issue as we could have containers and even crafting areas where we could utilize aforementioned resources but since player homes are not to be added where are we going to store our excess of Loot/Resources?

I imagine we may have some sort of bank/vault/storage area in most cities where we can store the stuff. Don't really know to be honest.

You can put them in a bank.

I can imagine a player housing system being incredibly complicated in an MMO.

Thanks for the replies, I was kind of worried for a second but yeah a bank/vault system would work well but I'm still kind of let down we'll have to wait for player homes. Thanks For The Replies.

Why is that? Player housing is pretty simple.

It's a factor i have become used to. inventory management... THEN all the goods you just can't part with. I got used to destroying items i felt i wanted badly. Then taught myself to smile while doing it >.> If that doesn't appeal to you, i'm fairly sure you can take solace in all the MMO Gamer's telling you there will most probably be a " Bank " type area to store your goods.

I'm about 99.9% sure they will have a " Bank " mechanic in the game. By the time you get anything worthy of hording.

Probably because you are playing on a shared map. It would require a custom interior cell for each registered player, for each "home" they may have.

A bank type scenario might be the best, then they just have to keep track of a list of inventory items for each player.

That doesn't seem much of a problem. Many other MMOs have done it successfully.

And this one probably will too, just not at launch. Until then, we are trying to figure out when where we can store our swag.

Bank storage is confirmed, and they said something about mounts having storage for on the go use. Who knows what else they have planned.

Probably sell more bank slots and make money off us that way, most MMO's do that now days.

Yeah, only the F2P and B2P ones. If this game is going to be P2P it won't sell things like this.

Stop playing F2P Rahl. Youll notice that P2P MMOs don't sell [censored] like they do. Those F2P MMOs are rotting your brain and you forgot how great P2P games are at not selling you these types of things.

the only f2p I play is STO and I can't stop because I love the game, I love my fleet, and I don't spend much money playing it instead I like the challenge of trying to play it for as little real cash as possible. I am a star trek fan through and through and STO really does satisfy a lot of my desires for star trek so even when ESO launches I will have a difficult time not playing STO still... and like I have said in countless threads I have played just about every MMO ever made so I have played all of the payment models not just f2p.

I know you play STO, but what I'm trying to tell you is that P2P MMOs don't sell you bank slots, or inventory slots. Those are only found in B2P or F2P games. They also don't sell you lockboxes with keys either. Those are money grabs for games that don't have subscriptions because they aren't making money any other way.

I can't think of a single P2P MMO that sells bank slots to you. So if ESO is P2P they won't single [censored] like this.

Thing is I doubt it will be P2P, if it is then great and I hope it is but I doubt it because there is WAY more money to be made with the other payment methods...and if it was P2P I think they would have announced that already and the reason they are not announcing is because they plan on....well I won't say it but you know where I am going with this...

With the amount of money that was invested into that game (around 300 million) I highly doubt they will go B2P. Do you know how much, just in box sells, they would have to make just to break even? 11 million boxes need to be sold. It took WoW over 5 years to break that amount.

Oh, and take a look at http://tamrielfoundry.com/2012/09/subscription-model/.

There are even more hints out there for it being P2P than any other model. And if it was going to be B2P they would have already said it by now. This game is going to be huge for TES fans who have never played an MMO before. Guess what TES fans are used to doing? Paying for a game once and never paying anymore on top of it. If it was going to be B2P they would have said it now to excite that playerbase. They aren't saying it because they are probably worried that saying that the game will be P2P will scare off potential TES fans this early in the beta.

But now we are off topic and I'm done talking about payment models. Because it's a stupid conversation and we all know what this game is going to be (P2P).

sweet! like I said I much prefer P2P with no cash shop at all and if there is a cash shop the only things it sells are vanity items no pay to win at all. By the look of that job description it does seem like it will be P2P and I am totally for that because there is no way any other payment model is cheaper to play, I have played them all and P2P is the cheapest ALWAYS, anyone who says different has no idea what they are talking about at all.
