Age Slider: hopefully just beta

Post » Tue Aug 06, 2013 2:11 am

So if you look here:

You can see the age slider for this Dunmer female is ALL the way maxxed out and she looks about 40. Very slight lines around the mouth and that's about it.

Hopefully they just haven't added older-looking textures and wrinkles yet or the age slider just isn't working. My Dunmer is super-old and wrinkly and I hope he can look that way in-game. He's the Dunmer equivalent of an 85-year-old human so I am hoping they add more to this for release. Would svck if we all have to be young-ish characters.

This is what my guy looks like in Skyrim and I'm hoping I can recreate this look in ESO: http://i.imgur.com/Qpk5ePR.png I wasn't too satisfied with even how young he looks in Skyrim.

That one has age slider maxed out? I thought that one is quite young - something around or below 30. I really hope they add the older ages on the slider and gives us chance to get rid of those foolish looking smooth and symmetrical round faces.

It might be because that dunmer was a female. Don't worry, I think you'll be able to play as an old(er)-looking male.

@Shasow - that's a freaking terrible argument. If it is only female characters that are age-locked to being 30-ish, then that's even worse than if all characters were 30-... MMOs have a long history of treating women characters as sixappeal dolls (pretty faces only, slim frames, young ages, and underwear armour), and I dearly hope ESO is not intending to go down that route.

Females generally look younger. And this is an elf we are talking about here, which also generally tend to sometimes look younger.

1st sentence - Uhhhh. Are you even being serious? 2nd - Fantasy elves, sure. Check the mers of Skyrim to see how that need not always be the case (ESPECIALLY the women merfolk). I'll say it plain - if this game allows to have 85-year-old grandpa wizards, and up to 30-ish-year-old "prettyface" women, then that's kinda not cool.
