Doom 4 Wants Skyrim Success

Post » Thu Aug 08, 2013 2:07 am

Well if you want skyrim success then you MUST have co-op single player. I felt one of the main issues with Doom 3 was the lack of co-op single player. There was a mod that allowed 8 people on a LAN to do single play co-op and it was [censored]** amazing! More optional features = more value to users = longevity for the game. I'm sure the team has already consider different game modes for the co-op and multiplayer but standard TDM and DM should not be the only options for multiplier. I'm sure you guys have the graphics and sound covered to the max just like when Doom 3 came out, so i wont even go there.

If you need any alpha testing or feedback before launch let me know. I've beta tested many games and will give an extensive report of non bias constructive criticism both positive and negative. I also make levels on the side for counter strike source and have a keen eye for perfection.

It may be what you want but Skyrim did not have coop either. I miss your point.

I'd rather they keep the singleplayer part single player focused. What they should do for co-op is have multiplayer levels designed specifically for co-op. If you've played Rage's "Wasteland Legends" you'll know exactly what I mean.

If you have levels designed for co-op you get a better experience, and you can keep the campaign/"story-mode" designed around giving the single player an incredible experience.

I realize Skyrim doesn't have coop... ID wants the success of Skyrim... I never said they want gameplay like Skyrim. I am referencing what I think ID needs to do in order to create similar success to Skyrim for Doom 4..... ... ... ... If they want this kind of success in their upcoming title they need to look at what makes similar games successful. One aspect of a successful game is single player coop or coop campaign.

A couple other common features to ensure success are unlocks with a skill set tree or some sort of extra unlock-able abilities in general. Weapon mods, weapon mods and more weapon mods.. I cant say that enough, weapon mods..

How about "make a good game first and bolt on checkbox features after"?
