Will this gpu run TES Online

Post » Wed Aug 07, 2013 9:06 pm

Hello guys,

Maybe this isn't the right place to ask this, even though it's the TES: Online forums.

I need some help on a new video card.

Currently I'm using a radeon 6850 1gb to play Skyrim with.

My processor is an i3-2120 and I can play this game on 1920x1080 30-60FPS on maxed settings (sometimes below 30 fps)

Now I really want to play TES: Online on my PC even though I'm also purchasing a PS4.

So I need a new graphics card to run Skyrim and TES: Online smoothly.

How will a Club 3D Radeon HD7950 3GB do in combination with an i3 2120?

I cannot replace the cpu until christmas because I am going to purchase the PS4 with all the games I want :)

Will I be able to play TES: Online with the new card on high/ultra settings?

Or do you recommend any other videocard?

Kind Regards,

Timo.

p.s I'm sorry if this wasn't the right place to ask!

That card will be more than enough. Your current card should be more than adequate, if it's playing maxed 1080 skyrim smoothly - I doubt ESO will push your system as hard in a lot of scenarios.

No specs are out for the game as far as I know, but you should be fine. Historically MMOs are much less intensive than fully fledged games. You should really be fine with the card you own already tbh.

Thank you very much

Thank you very much

I just want a new graphics card to make sure that I'll be able to run it smoothly.

My game is struggling at Skyrim sometimes and I want that to go away aswell.

The game is way to beautiful to not to experience it at the best resolution

There is a running "Can I Run It" thread on this forum already. Its all speculation at this point though.

But if you can max Skyrim then you will easily max ESO. Your GPU is definitely not going to be your bottle neck.

If anything you should think about upgrading the CPU. Especially since this is an MMO, which tend to be more demanding on the processor (especially if you plan on doing PvP with 200+ people.)

Alright, I will indeed replace my cpu in the future.

What would be my best bet? An i5 3750K?

You don't need an unlocked CPU unless you know what you are doing :).

An i5 3470 will be fine, you may need a BIOS upgrade for your main board if you have an older one from the sandy era :).
