Player Movement Freedom

Post » Wed Aug 07, 2013 7:39 pm

Sorry if this has already been discussed previously. I am new to the forum and am learning how things work around here. Anyway, in ESO, will the player be able to physically climb any mountain/structure/hill they want to or will they be limited to only certain areas meant to be explored. For example, in skyrim, if wanted to climb a random mountain that I saw in the distance, I could easily climb it in some way or form even if there was no direct path up there. In many MMOs such as SWTOR, you can explore areas with content and can only travel to places meant to be traveled to in very linear ways. I realize that ESO has zones with loading screens in between them, but I really it still gives the player the same kind of movement freedom that Skyrim did.

You'll probably see the same scaling mechanics from Skyrim and Oblivion. There is the ability to scale fortress walls in Cyrodiil, whether or not that is exclusive to that particular event (sieges) is anyone's guess.

They have not announced exactly how the zones will be made up. But I would suspect that you'd be able to climb anything within reason. If it a mountain that is following the zone wall (meaning nothing is over the other side) you'd be unable to too. But if it was a mountain that is dividing zones I would suspect you'd be able to it may require a bit of time and effort to do so since it is a mountain after all there won't be a path

Has it been announced that zones have a loading screen in between them?
