Mounts that stay become annoying. You would lose them when you started fighting/hunting mats, unless they followed you around automatically. Far easier to call one up when you need it.

Mounts as pets could be enjoyable, but I would rather prefer them to disappear in the end for above mentioned reasons, among others.

But whay have a mount at all then? Whay not just a fast runing pot or "Boots of blinding speed"?

What point to have then when they are only a fast runing bost?

People like the idea of a horse or whatever. Magic boots aren't the same as calling up a mount which is almost a pet, especially if we can name them.

I understand why you don't like it. But I couldn't find a better way without beeing annoyed of them after one day.

In an MMO, stuff like this would cause problems. People would just be leaving their horses standing around and being in the way (Visually at the least)

Can you imagine trying to get near a merchant when you can't even see him for all the horses standing around.

Out in the wilderness maybe. I could accept that, but have it disappear once you enter a dungeon/house or just move beyond a certain distance.

In crowded areas though (cities, areas with a lot of players, battle zones) , I can't possibly see even the smallest benefit to having them persist.

edit: Besides, we;ll likely be able to summon them, which defeats the purpose of seeking them out again. Why leave them somewhere safe when you can just resummon them at your current location?

Making them flash-vanish is kinda annoying, so yeah don't use cheap tricks, make a real solution devs.

You summon mounts in this game, notice the summon key below -

its say mount not sumone, and its still under erly beta so still time for change and do the game good.

To have the op to have the mount stay as pet is to mack the game good and not only from a role-play point of playeing.

I neither want nor expect them to stay. But it would be nice if they added a little animation showing them start to gallop away, rather than just disappearing on the spot.

Sure...let them stay and follow you around unless you park them at the stables...and be killable with perma death just as in the first person games. Yes, you will have to buy another one if it dies. Life has trade-offs.
