This game might go to hell

In Meridian 59, when you died and you were bad, you would literally get ported to hell when you died. It was it's own zone and you have to fight your way out to get back to the real world.

While there is no jail system or even a law system in place at the moment, I think it would be cool that when a law is implemented, oblivion might be waiting for the wicked.

Maybe if your reputation as a villain got really bad, when you died, you were sent to an oblivion zone and had to fight your way back to the real world. Once you made your way out, your "sins" are forgiven.

This would not have to be a real time consuming area, but just enough to make it a punishment.

I can tell you, as a player who has played this system, it was really fun. It's like a mini dungeon.

I know some of you will read this and your first reaction is to just see this a delay from the game, but it really isn't, it is part of the game. It is fun.

If you are in a dungeon with a group, you would not be sent to oblivion. That way there is no delay for the group.

yeah its a good idea .. anything that adds more content like this is allways good ..

but you do see people die a lot in mmo's .. could get redundant

altho .. I would love to be able to tell people -- "GO TO OBLIVION" and give the last thrust with my dagger across their necks ... knowing full well I just sent them straight to oblivion :)

Personally i am really clear about how i want my deathpennalties...

Die in Openworld PvE area, you need to recover your body if you want your gear back... luckilly you have a horse with you at your respawn point and so a smart player has a 2nd set of gear... This creates a whole adventure of its own.. and might need you to bring friends to get your stuff back if its a really hard to get place where you died. XP pennaltie is not neccesary, and the adventure of getting your gear back is a free bonus.

In instanced PvE, the whole instance resets and you need to do it again. When grouped, you can offcourse get a resurection. Actually you need a resurection to continue.. extremely long instanced could have safepoints, having to replay 2 hours for dieing would feel a bit harsh.

In PvP... the longer you stay alive the stronger you get... you also open a passive growtreebranch and open up new passives and active abbilities, who are stronger then normal abbilities. You also get more magicka, Stamina and Health. For every kill withouth dieing. However if you die, you loose all your temporary progression in your PvP survival tree. the higher level you get, the more beneficial it is for the ennemy to kill you.. If you die, you need to start all over again from zero with building up that tree.. (its not the same tree as the 3 AvA trees and the emperor skilltree)

well .. for the sake of being in a cave / dungeon and not wanting the healer to be removed from our squad .. make it set on a timer to when they are sent to oblivion .. or unless they choose town on purpose .. this way we can have atleast 5 minutes to get to them and resurect

To make it more interesting to be in hell they can have goals for players there as well as the real world so your time spent in hell earns you something that can be used in the real world. I personally like ideas like this one but I don't think we will be seeing this in ESO, it will be like most MMO's where death is almost meaningless unless you start to pile them up and even then its not that bad.

"If you die in a dungeon and your party members cannot revive you, will you be able to rejoin the party after respawning? – By Scott C.

Each dungeon has Wayshrines inside where you can always resurrect. You will never be forced to leave your party because you died."

I am interpreting this to mean you can be re-spawned at a nearby Wayshrine, with all of your gear. I think it would be neat if you could see what was going on around your dead characters until you get resurrected. I don't really want to spend time in an outside zone.

Not really... because all this is only temporary. You will loose all bonus if you die, and you are bound to die anyway when the numbers are seriously against you...

the system is meant to give players in PvP a reason to choose for survival first and not for suicide runs... where you kill 5 people knowing you are eventually going to die, but dieing comes at no cost in PvP, so who cares?
