I have a 2001 corolla, The check engine light is on and it came on while going up a hill, i just had the mass airflow sensor cleaned and it came back on today. Does anyone have any idea what would be the problem here, i'm not much good with cars.

First things first is go to an auto parts store like AutoZone or Advanced Auto and get them to read the code for you, see what it might be. I deal with codes all day so I can tell you what most of them mean.

The code is P0171

Probably running lean or your MAS triggered it.

Take it in for a diagnostic. There are a variety of problems that can cause that. Any thing from a vacuum leak to a malfunctioning/old MAS.
