Going on Random Threads

Post » Fri Aug 16, 2013 7:18 pm

Have you ever just gone onto a thread for something you don't know anything about?

It's actually pretty entertaining. I just went on that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. thread and I had no idea what I was reading.

Another great example is going on the My Little Pony threads. My friend is a Brony but when I read those threads all I see is Flutterbies and Spikes and Princess Rainbowfly.

Yeah, I'll go into threads like those to see if I can gain some insight to somthing I dont know or am curious about...

Some times, as in the case of My little Pony of the Fox character thread, I just back out slowly.

I'll often have a peek at something like that if it's been locked. Can't let that controversy slip away unseen! :hehe:

It's like I'm unwantedly inserting myself into their conversations in a hidden way. Although if you actually post in those threads without adequate knowledge, they can snuff you out before you've even said another two words.

Gee, I wonder what this thread has in it.

I do this quite often, really. I try to avoid topics that I typically don't know much about, or should not insert my dumb opinions into, but everything else is fair game. :)

Same, but short of that, or crappy thread titles, I never venture into something I know is of no interest.

I do too, but try to make myself feel better about it by imagining the new lock symbol as a purse... a purse of invitation!

Usually I'll look at random threads when I'm at work and realized that I've hit F5 for the last five minutes and nothing has happened. Even for things I'm completely uninterested in. Football thread? Yeah! Let's see what people are talking abou--aaand I have no clue what they're talking about.

I only look in threads that have been locked, if its a subject I wanted to post on.

That said, I don't look in threads that aren't within my "realm" if that makes sense.

I used to go check the games that were used to be on here (Rogue Warrior, Wet) to see people complain about them. On the former, it led me to watch video reviews of it and pretty much laugh the whole time on how bad the game was.

Yeah, you could watch any video of Rogue Warrior to get an idea of how bad it is, it's pretty much 1/10 material. I'm not to sure about Wet though, though I bet Bethesda was pretty much ashamed of it all the same. :D

But didn't they see this coming? I remember the first week that game was out people ranting about how bad it was. The review like you said were like 1/10 or 10/100 material. I think I remember gamesas mods and/or admins defending the game too. I guess that didn't last long.

This seems to have turned into a "Who looks at locked threads?" thread.

:stare: Ponies iz srs business...

Being serious though, there are some threads i'll check out, but i'm quick to back out of them at times. Most of the threads I back out of are ones that I have a semi "6th sense" about where they have a high probability of getting locked.

I have this habit too.. though I feel the same way Predator does as well, where I won't post in a thread if it's going downhill and will eventually get locked.

Yes, I enjoy lurking in threads, unless they're boring. Especially locked thread.

Same here, i mostly look at locked threads because im interested in what got it locked, and it gives you an idea of what the mods will accept.
