Ships.

In Everquest, if you wanted to get from one continent to another, there were ships you could get on at the docks. The wait time could be up to 15 minutes and the boat ride could take up to about 20 minutes. While you were traveling on the boat, you would see far off islands. You could actually jump off the boat and explore. The boat would even dock at a couple of the larger islands.

If we do get a new continent opened up in an expansion, would you use a system like this? Or would you just want a port from one continent to the other?

If you did not have the option of both, which would you choose?

20 minutes no, 5-10 would be perfect though. Won't happen though...long gone are the days of WoW and EQ travel sadly :(

Blame todays generation, they have no patiance for that kind of stuff, if it takes more then 60 seconds for any method of travel players will take a fit and quit the game, personally I love more realistic travel times whether it be sailing or flying, but I just don't see it happening anymore, welcome to 2013...

Better yet, take a page out of the Darkfall book and have build-able ships you can crew yourself :D

Quite a lot to implement though so sadly don't see it happening...
