What do you think will be OP?

Post » Thu Aug 22, 2013 5:39 am

Every MMO has classes or skills that are OP. What do you think will be OP when the game launches, just from what you've pulled from their releases and experience you may have with other MMOs?

I think that if there are downsides to the vampire/wearwolf trait lines (sun damage, sun weakness, having to transform), that the up sides may be pretty OP. If they have increased magic damage, or speed, etc, especially vampires at night or in caves lol.

I know that nightblades have a stealth/vanish mechanic as well. Makes me wonder if pulling off sneak attacks will be possible in the middle of combat. Might have some rage about that as well.

Of course all of this is hypothetical since we have no actual gameplay information. Just want to know your thoughts

Whichever I buy in the cash shop for $19.99.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Honestly I think Dragon Knights will be a force to be reckoned with due to natural mitigation capabilities.

Whatever, you'll all be crying when I drop $50 for my flaming skeleton guar mount that fights with me when I dismount!!!

And yeah, tanks in all games are rough lol. This game though might allow a tank to be all tanky, and have skills from some DPS traitlines...might make it a rough fight.

depends on how magic and stealth work. Generally though, i expect Sorcerers/mages/etc to be OP as that is the trend in MMO's. the other trend is that Rogues/Thieves are good but are almost too hard to use.

I feel also that because there is no auto-aim on archery, they might make it do a lot of damage when it actually hits. Pretty balanced for normal gamers, but for people with awesome aim it'll probably be devastating in PvP lol.

I'm wondering about itemization, there could possibly be "penetration" type stats that could really change things. I'm fairly sure there's been a confirmed resistance system for magic.

Sorcs will have their time as the OP "easymode" class. Every pet class in every MMO I've played that has them goes through that one.

templates come and go. People can come up with a set of skills that is hard to beat in certain situations but those characters are often useless outside of the specific use they are specialized in. And then someone creates a template specifically to the kill the other one and they both fall out of favor and the new flavor emerges.
