1. Granted the forum is not representative etc etc. However, by that same logic, they shouldn't listen to your opinion either since you are on the forum. So that washes out.
2. You are absolutely right. Yet your argument fails. What have they done to alienate a massive segment of their *keywords coming up* player base? Many people here and other sites have said subs are ok or that they are willing to live with them. All you have to go on is the number of people who complain online. See #1 of your own argument.
3. You don't know that TESO won't be worth $15/month to you because even if you are in Beta you haven't played the full game. Now for the sake of the argument, I will stipulate you don't see the value. That's your opinion and choice. Others of us do.
As to a sub leading to a better game, there is ample evidence out there. Many industry experts have said that subs lead to more stable income, and that leads to less risk when planning future developments. Name a single F2P or B2P mmo that is of the same caliber as a successful P2P mmo. No GW2 isn't a good example.
4. Will they sell more copies if the game was B2P? Yes they would. But don't forget that MANY of those sales would be to people like me who would buy it anyway. So they would lose a lot of continuous income if they dropped the sub to gain a one time boost. That implies you are the one who has is lacking understanding of how business works.
Also, your comment about 7 million subs to make the $100 million? First they are spending around $300 million to make the game. Second, you do realize that subs come in every month right? Also box sales generate income? So they don't need 7 million subscribers right out of the gate, even with only 1 million sales/subs that would be $50 million the first month, then $15 million every month after that.
